TOOLS FOR TOMORROW

Building Bright Futures & Teaching Trades to Nashville's Youth

Support The Program

Teaching the Trades,
Building Confidence

Tools for Tomorrow is a community outreach program started by Monte Johnson, founder and lead contractor of Grandson's Remodeling, LLC. Built on the belief that manual trade skills teach discipline, critical thinking, and pride in one's work, Monte hosts free workshops for kids aged 9-17 in the local Nashville area.

In these workshops, kids get hands-on experience using basic tools, learning workshop safety, and constructing real projects like portable speakers and small wooden boxes. Monte covers all expenses—including building kits, materials, and safety gear—entirely out of his own pocket. Parents sign their children up for 100% free.

"My grandfather taught me the trade, and it changed the course of my life. I want to pass that gift on to the kids in our community—showing them that they can build anything they set their minds to."

— Demonte "Monte" Johnson

Why We Need Your Support

To expand the Tools for Tomorrow program, reach more kids, and purchase higher-quality building kits, we are planning our first official fundraising drive. Every contribution helps buy materials for a child's next project.
